- Pricing
- Contractor Marketing
- Budget
The short answer: it depends on what you buy
Contractor marketing is not one price. It is a mix of a website, local search work, advertising and offline printing, and each has its own cost. The useful question is what each piece costs and which ones fit your market and your capacity to take on new jobs.
Typical cost components
Here is how the main pieces are usually priced:
- ✓Website: a free preview costs nothing with UPrintMedia, and a managed website with a custom domain, hosting and unlimited edits is $99 per month.
- ✓Website plus ongoing SEO and content: our Full Service plan is $399 per month and includes technical SEO, AI SEO, automated blog and social content, and service and location pages.
- ✓Facebook Ads management: $349 per month for setup, creative, tracking and management. Your ad budget is paid directly to Meta and is separate.
- ✓Google Ads: agencies usually charge a management fee on top of the ad budget you pay to Google. Ask whether the fee is flat or a percentage.
- ✓Printing: business cards, yard signs, door hangers and truck magnets are priced per order and quantity.
How much should a contractor spend on marketing?
There is no universal percentage that fits every trade. A practical approach is to start with your average job value and the number of extra jobs you can handle. If a job is worth thousands of dollars, even a few extra booked jobs a month can justify a modest budget. Start with the foundations (a fast website and a complete Google Business Profile), then add advertising where you have capacity to answer every call.
Questions to ask any agency before you sign
Good agencies answer these plainly.
- ✓What exactly is included each month, and how are calls and booked jobs reported?
- ✓Do I own my website, domain and ad accounts?
- ✓Is the contract month to month, and can I cancel anytime?
- ✓Is ad spend separate from your fee?
- ✓Do you guarantee rankings? Be cautious if the answer is yes, because nobody can guarantee Google rankings.
